Call for Entires: Ben Uri Gallery International Jewish Artist of the Year Award

The International Jewish Artist of the Year Award (IJAYA) is one of the most prestigious international event of its kind showcasing artists from around the world at the Ben Uri Gallery in London, England.

Standards are high with over 500 submissions from 18 countries across the world expected to submit. Artists selected for the final exhibition will receive certification and the public acknowledgment of their work that they deserve. All short-listed finalists will be showcased in an exhibition at the Ben Uri Museum that will run from 9–29 May 2012.

24 and over

40 works will be selected for the final shortlist, entitling each of the selected artists to exhibit at the Museum in London from 9–29 May 2012. Category winners and the Ben Uri 2012 International Jewish Artist of the Year will be announced at the awards reception on 22 May 2012. All of the artists who enter the awards will also be invited to join the celebration with the competition’s international panel of judges and other dignitaries from the London art world, including collectors, critics and gallery owners.

Judging and Selection

The panel of judges will be chaired by Katy Barron, Contemporary Curator at Ben Uri. The panel will include Paris-based artist Ra’anan Levy, London-based artist and writer Sarah Lightman and gallery owner Andrew Kalman of Crane Kalman Gallery in London’s Knightsbridge.

Awards:£7,500

Each category winner of each age group (six category winners) will receive £750 of Cass Art Vouchers. The runner up to the International Jewish Artist of the Year will be an age group overall winner and will be awarded a further £1000. The overall International Jewish Artist of the Year will be awarded a further £2000. The judges may at their discretion make a further award recognising the most promising young artist of the competition.
